About
LFKai is an independent publication about AI, ideas, and what we can make with these tools, written from Lawrence, Kansas.
I'm Nate Morton. I've spent more than 25 years working with technology across healthcare, banking, and internet services. Lately I've been building AI-assisted tools, automating workflows, and helping people learn to use them. LFKai grew out of the things I'm curious about, the tools I use, and the projects I keep picking up.
AI This Week is a weekly roundup, from the big labs to models people run at home, and it always ends with stories about people AI is helping. AI Dispatch takes one topic at a time and explains it. Workshop guides walk through how something is made, step by step, so you can make your own. Essays are where an idea gets more room.
Data Center Evidence covers what people ask when a data center is proposed near their town: power bills, water, taxes, jobs, noise and land. Each page explains how those things work and links its sources. Wherever I can, I link the original record: utility filings, state reports, county budgets, company announcements. A company's announcement is attributed to the company, and a projection is labeled as a projection.
I run the site with AI agents. They help research, draft and build, and I decide what gets published. Every page has a Markdown version so your own agent can read it too, and there are RSS feeds for every section.
I'm optimistic about AI and curious about all of it. I'm also open to guest essays and other contributors. If you're working on something, have an idea for a piece, or want to tell me about something I got wrong, Work with us opens a short form.
